Professor Gerard Wong received his BS degree in Physics from Caltech, and his PhD in Physics from U.C. Berkeley. He subsequently had two postdoctoral appointments, one at the FOM Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics in Amsterdam, and one at U.C. Santa Barbara. In addition to the Materials Science & Engineering Dept. he is also affiliated with the Physics Dept., the Bioengineering Dept., and the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology. Wong has received a Beckman Young Investigator Award (2001), a Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship (2004), and a Xerox Faculty Research Award (2005).
